Netflix has officially shared the release dates for the much-awaited fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
According to the streaming platform, the season will be released in three parts towards the end of this year. Part one will debut on November 26, followed by part two on Christmas Day. The final episode of the series is set to arrive on New Yearโs Eve.
The release dates were made public during Netflixโs Tudum fan event, which took place on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Producer Ross Duffer talked about the final season and said, โWe spent a full year filming this season. By the end, weโd captured over 650 hours of footage.โ
He added, โSo, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. Itโs like eight blockbuster movies. Itโs pretty insane.โ
Matt Duffer, Rossโs brother and co-creator, added, โAt the same time, we think itโs our most personal story. It was super intense and emotional to film for us and for our actors. Weโve been making this show together for almost 10 years. There was a lot of crying. There was so much crying.โ
He further shared, โThe show means so much to all of us, and everyone put their hearts and souls into it. And we hope and believe that passion will translate to the screen.โ
Stranger Things first premiered in 2016 and quickly became a global hit, known for its blend of 80s nostalgia, horror, and sci-fi themes.
With season 5 being the last chapter, fans around the world are preparing for an emotional goodbye to the beloved characters and storyline that has lasted nearly a decade.
