Snapchat is one of the most popular youth-centric application, it is also the application in which many individuals get very sentimental.

The recent update has caused a panic amongst its users as everyone is demanding the developers to undo whatever they did!

New Snapchat Updates

Here’s what the new update changed;

  • Stories are no longer ordered chronologically. Instead, they are ranked based on your most recent interactions
  • Users cannot re-watch a post right after viewing it, they will have to visit the user’s profile and take a second peek from there
  • The friend’s section now contains snaps, direct messages and group chats all on one page as opposed to separate ones as before
  • You now have to tap the Snapchat logo to access the camera and to see your story views and deleted snaps

Social Media Reactions to Snapchat’s Update

Pakistani Twitterverse is furious and people are losing their minds after updating their snapchat!

How to Stop Snapchat’s Latest Update

Don’t worry! There is a way to make this misery come to an end! For those who have already received it, simply follow the following steps;

  • Uninstall the new update on your phone
  • Plug it into a PC and drop the Snapchat APK you’ve just retrieved from your old device into the Download folder
  • Download a file explorer app on your Android device, locate the Snapchat APK in your Download folder within the app
  • Tap it to launch the file and install the app.

Android users can also download different older versions of Snap from here.

For those who do not have the update yet, here’s what you can do to avoid it:

  • Open Play Store
  • Open Snapchat’s page
  • Click on the 3-dot icon in the top right corner
  • Turn auto-update off

(This method relies on the fact that the version of Snapchat stored within your iTunes library is likely to be an old one)

  • Delete Snapchat from your iPhone
  • Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes
  • Do not sync your iPhone just yet
  • Find Apps in the drop-down menu in iTunes
  • Find Snapchat in iTunes’ Apps list then hit Install and sync your device
  • The version you have backed up will now copy to your iPhone

You’re welcome!
