CPEC

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has significantly boosted Pakistan’s infrastructure and economy over its decade-long existence since 2013. To celebrate CPEC’s 10th anniversary, Pakistan will release a commemorative Rs. 100 coin. The coin, available from August 11, 2023, through SBP exchange counters, features a round shape with milled edges, 30mm diameter, 13.5g weight, and Cupro-Nickel composition (75% Copper, 25% Nickel).

Here are the design details:

The coin boasts a circular shape with milled edges, a diameter of 30.00mm, a weight of 13.5 grams, and is composed of Cupro-Nickel materials (comprising 75% Copper and 25% Nickel).

Over the past decade, Pakistan and China have forged robust connections across various domains, often referring to themselves as “iron brothers,” according to Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal.

Ahsan Iqbal mentioned that the concept of CPEC was introduced by the Chinese President during his Pakistan visit. Subsequently, an agreement was inked to bring this concept to life. He shared these insights during a June gathering commemorating a decade of CPEC accomplishments.

Notably, China requested Pakistan to outline a roadmap, and within three years, China emerged as the largest investor in Pakistan, underscoring the enduring strength of their partnership.
