Advancements in the automobile domain are always good news for Pakistan because we are in dire need of fresh new vehicles. Now, Sazgar Engineering, a Pakistani automaker, has introduced its first electric vehicle, the ORA 03, in collaboration with Great Wall Motor (GWM) of China.

The ORA 03 combines classic and modern aesthetics, featuring a unique exterior design. It comes with a lithium iron phosphate 47.78 kWh battery offering a range of 310-400 kilometers per charge. Yes, this means that you can reach Lahore from Karachi within a total of 4-5 charges of the vehicle. That sounds quite impressive, considering we do not have that efficient of a vehicle in the hatchback domain. It also boasts a stylish design, which almost looks like a Porsche vehicle.

Sazgar With The ORA 03

The electric car is equipped with a Permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, delivering 105kW of maximum power and 219 Nm of torque. The ORA 03 can reach a top speed of 160 kilometers/hour and operates on a Front Wheel Drive (FWD) drivetrain. Exterior highlights include LED electric adjustment headlamps, panoramic sunroof, and 215/50 R18 alloy wheels. The interior features a red & beige color scheme, microfiber leather steering wheel, and leatherette seats.

It offers modern amenities such as wireless charging, 10.25-inch color multitouch screen, and auto AC. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Auto Emergency Braking. The vehicle has earned a 5-star Euro NCAP crash test score and has been successful in other markets. Sazgar Engineering aims to replicate its success in Pakistan’s market with the ORA 03. People are sure to buy such a vehicle when they hear what it offers in the price it is kept at.

Giving Competition

Currently, there are not a lot of electric vehicles in Pakistan due to a lack of infrastructure. Among those that are present, a lot of people can be seen driving the Audi E-tron, but it is quite pricey. The EV market in Pakistan anticipates the response to Sazgar’s latest electric vehicle offering. The ORA 03 is priced at PKR 89.99 Lac and bookings will begin next week with deliveries expected within 3/4 months.

To have a price of less than Rs.1 Crore for an electric hatchback sounds quite an interesting deal, especially with a plethora of features.
