Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt is known for his straight-forward opinions about the national cricket team’s performance and daily affairs. He has voiced significant concerns about the ongoing controversy surrounding the revocation of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
In a recent YouTube video, Salman Butt passionately urged the PCB to address the issues arising from what he perceives as the uneven distribution of NOCs among players participating in franchise-based T20 leagues.
This came after PCB’s recent decision to revoke NOCs for certain players, including Mohammad Haris, Iftikhar Ahmed, Saim Ayub, and Fakhar Zaman, that sparked discussions and raised eyebrows within the cricketing community.

In the video, Butt used a vivid analogy to describe the situation, stating, “It’s like one family member giving more to one kid and less to the other – an unfair sharing of wealth.”
“Some players feel left out as they didn’t get NOCs, while others did. This is a problem that requires a solution,” Butt added. He also suggested ways to tackle the ongoing controversy as the player who is out of Pakistan team should not be stopped from playing league cricket.
The disparity in the issuance of NOCs has led to some players feeling left out, while others, like senior players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, and Shadab Khan, received NOCs for their participation in the International League T20 (ILT20) and the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
The most prominent case was that of Mohammad Haris, who landed in Dhaka last week to partake in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for Chattogram Challengers, however, he returned home without playing.
