As the new year rings in with a bang, good news has been announced for all government employees in Sharjah, UAE  who will receive an increase in salary from 1st of January, 2018.

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, made the announcement on Thursday to allocate Dh 600 million for an increase in the salaries of the Emirate’s government employees’ revised pay structure.

A new minimum salary of Dh 17,500 has been set together with an increase in overall wages. This comes as a New Year gift to all the employees.

Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, member of the Sharjah Executive Council and chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources,

“Investing in people and human resources has been the main focus and concern of Dr. Sheikh Sultan. The decision proves his keenness to improve the conditions of all the employees on the financial, educational and cultural levels. This will also provide them with family stability and a prosperous life”

 

The Sharjah Government will be introducing eight pay grades, details of four grades have been given below:

Grade 8 is the lowest grade for employees who do not have a secondary school certificate with a basic salary of Dh 17,500.

Grade 7 has been fixed for people with secondary school certificate qualification with a minimum salary of Dh18,500 per month.

Grade 4 has been fixed for university graduates, they would start with a minimum salary of Dh25,000 per month.

Grade 1 employees will earn a monthly salary of Dh 30,500 which includes Dh 21,375 as the basic salary and Dh 7,125 as the cost of living allowance.
