Crafted by Pramod Kamble, the towering sculpture is prominently positioned between the Sachin Tendulkar Stand and the Vijay Merchant Pavilion. It captures Tendulkar in action, playing a lofted stroke straight down the ground.

Sachin Tendulkar took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), to express his gratitude for honouring him with the statue at the iconic stadium.

Interestingly, both the facial features and the posture bear an uncanny similarity to those of Steve Smith. This observation did not escape the keen eyes of fans on social media. From fake accounts mimicking Steve Smith to ardent supporters, journalists, and members of the cricketing community, many could not help but comment on this intriguing coincidence.
