Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has released another video seeking forgiveness from the public following widespread criticism on social media regarding a clip showing the singer scolding and beating his student.

He also frowned at the hateful campaign against him where he was secretly recorded, regretting that there may be more videos of him the individual might use to hurt his reputation.

In his apology video, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan expressed remorse, stating, “I, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, offer my sincere apology today for my actions. As a human being and an artist, I should not have behaved in such a manner. I apologize to my family, friends, and fans. I assure you that I will not repeat such a mistake in the future.”

While maintaining that the video clip is nine month old, Khan protested against the individuals responsible for its circulation—afraid that there may be more videos that may emerge since they were recorded without him knowing to tarnish his reputation.

He expressed embarrassment over his conduct and commended those who chose to boycott him and acknowledged their stance.

“I am embarrassed about my behaviour. I respect the people who boycotted me, they did what they felt was right,” he can be heard saying in the video.

Reflecting on the controversy, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan admitted to scolding and physically reprimanding his student, but emphasized that he promptly apologized upon realizing his error. He affirmed his commitment to continue his musical journey while pledging to avoid similar incidents in the future.

“It is for my learning. I will keep on singing. I will never do anything like that in future,” he added.
