Supreme Court of Pakistan Judges Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi has received unwavering support from BOL News after a smear campaign was launched against them.
Two judges have been targeted by the PML-N for being biased against the party and favoring the PTI chairman Imran Khan, according to a smear campaign the party has launched against the superior judiciary. It has asked that judges should recuse themselves from the bench hearing any case involving the party.
Senior PML-N leadership including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz, and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah have also spread vitriol against the judiciary. These statements are an attempt to pressurize the judiciary against giving any adverse judgment.
Journalists, lawyers, and media channels are also involved in the conspiracy against the judiciary. This is in gross violation of the law which prohibits statements against state institutions.
Many journalists having complete disregard for media ethics have openly violated the law in their campaign against the judges. They have openly called the judges and asked the government to take action against them.
There has been vehement criticism on social media by several journalists and lawyers to tarnish the reputation of the judges. This has become more profound after the alleged audio leak which includes a senior judge.
Under these circumstances, BOL News has supported the judges and any attempt to tarnish the esteem and reputation of the higher judiciary. The channel has been silenced for supporting the higher judiciary and its transmission has also been suspended in various parts of the country.
