Apple’s iPhone 17 series is gearing up to be more than a typical upgrade. As per fresh reports, the 2025 range will have an audacious new design, enhanced cooling, and new colour schemes, pointing towards Apple’s biggest cosmetic overhaul in years.
Vapour Chamber Cooling for iPhone
Apple will, for the first time, ship an iPhone 17 Pro, which will boast a vapour chamber cooling system. This tech, already implemented in premium Android smartphones, will enhance heat dissipation. It keeps performance stable under heavy use, such as gaming or video editing.
Rather than the usual graphite pads, this system incorporates a sealed chamber that distributes heat more evenly throughout the body of the phone. Rumours even indicate that it could reach the camera region, possibly for both cooling and heat dissipation.
A New Design
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman confirms that internally, Apple views this lineup as an “industrial design revamp.” The Pro models will ditch titanium for aluminum frames and feature a hybrid glass-metal rear panel.
The new “Air” model will be thinner and lighter, with a sleeker body. While the front will largely resemble current models, the back is where you’ll notice the biggest shift.
Apple constantly revamps its colour range, and the iPhone 17 will be no different. Look for new colours such as purple and green for the standard models. The Pro models may come out in sky blue to match the new materials. Gossip predicts that teal and ultramarine may be discontinued from the last generation.
Faster Charging, Larger Screens, and More
Leaks also suggest speedier charging, changes to screen sizes, and a more robust Pro Max variant. Although Apple hasn’t officially announced features such as ProMotion for the regular models, we can possibly expect screen enhancements overall.
The enigmatic iPhone 17 “Air” might, meanwhile, bring a lighter, more streamlined model suitable for younger users or those seeking a slimmer design.
