Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif reached London after flying in from Minsk, Belarus. He landed at Luton Airport on a chartered flight. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Faisal, received him upon arrival.
After landing, Nawaz Sharif travelled to the Avenfield Apartments with his son Hassan Nawaz. According to party sources, he plans to undergo medical checkups and celebrate Eid in the UK. Additionally, he will attend political meetings during this two-week visit.
While speaking to the media in London, he responded to reports about his health. “My health is absolutely good; false news has been spread,” Nawaz said. He made it clear that the rumours had no truth.
He also took the opportunity to praise Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is doing a great job and has gotten the wobbling economy back on its feet,” he said.
Nawaz emphasised that Pakistan is moving in the right direction under Shehbaz’s leadership.
Moreover, he encouraged citizens to support national progress. He added that every decision by the government is being made “on merit,” which ensures transparency and fairness.
He further praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her performance. “Maryam is not doing anything in Punjab that goes against merit,” he noted. Nawaz stated that she has introduced fresh development benchmarks in the province.
Turning to Lahore’s development, he said several projects are underway to restore its original charm. “We will restore Lahore to its natural condition,” he promised. These efforts reflect the party’s focus on urban renewal.
When asked about Pakistan International Airlines, Nawaz called for strict action. He demanded accountability for those responsible for the national airline’s decline. During his visit, he will meet his personal doctor, Dr. Adnan, for regular tests.
