Following a successful e-passport launch in Islamabad, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has introduced electronic passports at all passport centers across Pakistan.

They initially tested this in the capital this June, limiting its use to diplomatic and governmental personnel. However, former Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah’s announcement subsequently broadened access to these e-passports for the general population of Islamabad and later for citizens nationwide.

The directorate proudly declared via Twitter last month that they had printed and dispatched the inaugural passport processed through the Inland Online Application system.

Currently, the directorate has revealed the official tariff structure for these innovative e-passport. Here’s the updated fees schedule:

It’s important to note that the fee arrangement for standard passports remains unchanged, following the new timetable.

With an effective launch date of August 16th, these revised charges mark a pivotal shift in passport services across Pakistan. This milestone not only symbolizes a significant step towards digitalizing administrative protocols but also ushers in a new era of streamlined passport services.
