Mohammad Amir has recently shared insights into his approach to playing quality T20 cricket leagues only while stressing the importance of professionalism in cricket.

In an interview with a local news channel, Amir highlighted the significance of carefully choosing which T20 leagues to participate in, underlining the impact it can have on players’ careers.

“Players need to be seen as professionals, determining which leagues to play in and which not to. It is essential to see the improvement happening in the league,” said Mohammad Amir.

He emphasized that while financial gains are essential, players should prioritize leagues that contribute to their growth and development as cricketers.

“Getting paid is good, but if the standard of play is not there, it’s not beneficial. Play two to three leagues, but play in a way that improves cricket and also provides a break. Taking a break is necessary for a fast bowler; otherwise, injuries can occur,” he added.

Reflecting on his debut season with the Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 9, Amir lauded the team’s balanced combination of bowling and batting specialists, emphasizing the importance of building cohesive teams in franchise cricket.

“In franchise cricket, the most important thing is to build the best combination by ticking all the boxes. Quetta have specialists in both bowling and batting,” he stated.

Amir also shed light on his decision to sit out a game against Karachi Kings, revealing that the team management recommended a break to manage his workload effectively.

Addressing speculation about a potential international comeback, Amir expressed contentment with his decision to step away from international cricket, emphasizing his desire to prioritize family time after dedicating several years to the sport at the highest level.
