Winners of Khelo Shaan Se competition celebrate their win with their Mentors and Team KE

#KheloShanSe was trending #1 on Twitter in Pakistan as K-Electric hosted a 2-day sports event for underprivileged and differently-abled youth of Karachi with the same name. The event covered sports activities for them such as Javelin throw, Discu s throw, and 100m Sprint.

“Khelo Shaan Se” is one of K-Electric’s recent initiatives to boost confidence among such youth of the city and giving them the chance to prove themselves through sports activities. To inspire them to do better in those sports activities, K-Electric invited famous sportsmen as Guests of Honor as well as mentors for the youth such as Fatima Hussain, Haider Ali & Naseem Hameed who made our country proud by competing in the highest level of sports championship – Olympics.

This event was one of its kind as it provided exposure to the youth coming from various underdeveloped areas of Karachi who do not have exposure or direct access to sports. These are also those areas which do not pay much attention to the right upbringing of the youth, and they get exposed to various unethical activities which adversely impact their personalities and the communities at large.

All in all, #KheloShaanSe provided these youth a platform to not only showcase their talents, but also engage in healthy activities which they seldom get a chance to be a part of. Through this innovative and meaningful initiative, K-Electric has tapped into Pakistan’s limitless potential, especially in areas like Orangi, Korangi, Lyari, Surjani, and Gadap. Over 900 underprivileged including 70 differently abled youngsters participated. The event was a tremendous success and a highlight of this weekend.
