Peshawar Zalmi’s captain, Babar Azam, received a lavish gift from team owner Javed Afridi in recognition of his extraordinary performance during last night’s PSL 9 match against Islamabad United.
Babar Azam’s sensational 11th T20 century proved instrumental in guiding Peshawar Zalmi to a formidable total of 201/5 at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
In response to Babar’s outstanding achievement, Javed Afridi announced that he would be presenting the talented batsman with an MG HS Essence car.
Taking to social media, Afridi expressed his excitement, declaring, “MG GIFT FOR BABAR AZAM. HE WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO DRIVE MG ESSENCE. MADE IN PAKISTAN.”

Partnering with opener Saim Ayub, Babar Azam kickstarted Zalmi’s innings with a commanding 73-run partnership, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown.
The highlight of Babar’s innings came in the 18th over, where he unleashed a flurry of boundaries and a six against Islamabad United’s bowler Hunain Shah.
With an unbeaten score of 111 off just 63 deliveries, including 14 boundaries and two sixes, Babar Azam emerged as the top scorer for Peshawar Zalmi.
His stellar performance earned him the well-deserved “Man of the Match” award, propelling his team to an eight-run victory over Islamabad United.
Babar’s remarkable achievement adds to his growing list of accolades, as he now boasts an impressive tally of 11 centuries in T20 cricket.
He stands second only to the legendary Chris Gayle, who holds the record with 22 centuries in the shortest format of the game.
