New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham, notorious for his social media posts, has once again charmed cricket fans with his characteristic wit.

The star all-rounder took to his social media to share his light-hearted take on the Black Caps’ frequent visits to Pakistan.

In a recent Instagram story, Neesham humorously remarked, “Back for the yearly visit,” accompanied by an emoji, acknowledging the regularity of the New Zealand team’s trips to Pakistan.

This playful quip comes as the Black Caps return to Pakistani soil, marking their third trip to the country in just over a year’s time.

The current tour sees New Zealand fielding a weakened squad, much like their previous visits, as many of their top players are engaged in the ongoing IPL season.

This situation mirrors the circumstances of their last tour in April 2023, during which Neesham was also part of the Kiwi squad.

Looking back, New Zealand’s recent visits to Pakistan have become somewhat routine. In January 2023, they toured the country for a series of three ODIs, followed by a more extensive tour in April of the same year, featuring five T20Is and five ODIs.

Despite the significance of having a major team like New Zealand visit Pakistan frequently, the recurrence of these series has led to waning fan interest.

The prospect of witnessing the same matchups repeatedly, especially with a second-string New Zealand side, has failed to captivate audiences as it once did.

In an effort to inject fresh excitement into the cricketing calendar, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced plans to host an ODI triangular series involving New Zealand and South Africa in February 2025.
