Actor Saba Qamar looks unrecognisable in her ‘space siren’ photoshoot, drawing both applause and criticism.

The shoot featured an avant-garde and unconventional look that did not sit well with all her admirers.

Saba Qamar’s edgy appearance included a black bejewelled corset top paired with sleek black pants, opera gloves, and retro shades.

Her next ensemble showcased her in a black miniskirt, coordinated crop top, and a cutout blazer, accentuated by knee-high boots, a silver chain belt, and an eyeglass chain for her sunglasses. To complete her striking look, she was given glossy vintage curls, a nod to the Y2K era, and metallic eye makeup.

She wrote, “You thought you’d alienate me, I’d flip, I rise from the ashes, just a small dip. Topple me over with your glitchy gimmick? Beat you at your own game, I’m the biggest mimic. I had a few tricks up my sleeve, little did you know, Now take a backseat babe, ’cause it’s a solo show.”

The shoot’s high-fashion approach seemed to miss the mark for some in the audience.

One user couldn’t resist poking fun at the actress, questioning how she had reached a point where she accepted shoots that seemed beneath her established reputation for traditional, feminine, and elegant looks.

Another user expressed humour with a touch of irony, remarking that Saba Qamar had been made to look “ugly” with incredible finesse.

For some fans, the photoshoot was a disappointment, with one lamenting that Saba Qamar, who was a favourite actor, had let her down with this unconventional choice.

However, not all reactions were negative as many from the industry were pleasantly surprised by her bold experimentation and complemented her for pushing the boundaries of her image.

In the credits for the photoshoot, Saba Qamar acknowledged the creative team behind the stunning visuals: Photography and Post-production were handled by Mngopro, while the concept, styling, and coordination were executed by Gulshan Majeed. The transformational hair and makeup for the shoot were crafted by Ayan Khan. The wardrobe choices that contributed to Saba Qamar’s look were curated from Bluemorpho by SHF.
