India's New Jersey Features Pakistan's Name for the First Time

The Indian Cricket team has revealed their jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Monday, February 17. India captain Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh posed for cameras in the new colours. What caught everyone’s attention was the name of the host nation, Pakistan, on their jersey.

The ICC shared the photographs of the Indian players who received their ICC awards and Team of the Year caps ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025. The players were seen wearing their new attire for the tournament, which had the tournament’s logo and Pakistan’s name.

Speculation arose that India wouldn’t be wearing jerseys that feature the Pakistan imprint as part of the official logo. It’s the first time that India’s jersey has Pakistan’s name printed on it. During the Asia Cup 2023, held in Pakistan, none of the teams displayed the hosts’ name on their jerseys.

In the ICC awards, Rohit Sharma was named in the ICC ODI team of the year, while Jadeja was named in the Test team. Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh were named in the ICC T20I team of the year. He finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker of the T20 World Cup 2024 with 17 scalps and 36 wickets to his name.
