While running an investigation, Karachi police successfully arrested a woman from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical College from the Gynecological Ward.

The woman was allegedly posing as a doctor at the hospital, while only being matric-passed, according to sources.

Clifton SP Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem said ward security officials had found her behavior suspicious and notified the police.

Upon their arrival, she was still present in the ward wearing a white-doctor gown. Upon further investigations and proper searching of her property, they found medicines, medical apparatus, and surgical tools from her bag.

“It is suspected that she has been illegally involved in many surgeries,” – SP Naeem

According to a source, as of now, it is being believed that the suspect targeted female patients who visited the gynecology ward to undergo “illegal surgeries”. The suspect is also being checked for any links to the abduction of newborn children.

However, according to the woman’s lawyer, she had been appointed as a personal assistant by two doctors since the past six to seven months and “she had never said that she was a lady doctor”.

JPMC director Seemi Jamali has denied that the impersonator had any association with the hospital.

“Just yesterday this woman was seen at the gynaecology ward and security personnel reported her after which we called the police,” Dr Jamali
