The ICC announced Afghanistan’s all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai as the ODI Cricketer of the Year at the ICC Awards 2024. Omarzai played a key role in four out of Afghanistan’s five ODI series wins in 2024. His exceptional performances in both batting and bowling helped him earn this prestigious title.
Azmatullah Omarzai scored 417 runs in 14 ODIs for Afghanistan, ending the year as his team’s second-highest run-scorer behind Rahmanullah Gurbaz. He maintained an impressive batting average of 52.12. Additionally, Omarzai was also Afghanistan’s second-highest wicket-taker, with 17 wickets at an average of 20.47, behind AM Ghazanfar.
