The Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Ministry of Education of Pakistan has officially recognised the Career-related Programme (CP), which is equal to the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Science topics (Pre-Medical/Pre-Engineering Group) of Pakistan. All students who possess a secondary school diploma or an equivalent certification are qualified to enrol in the CP programme.

CP Students In Pakistan

“We are thrilled with the news that the CP is now officially acknowledged to both humanities and science groups throughout Pakistan,” said Uzma Shujjat, IB’s regional manager for Pakistan. With this acknowledgment, CP students in Pakistan now have more options to enrol in universities of medicine and engineering.

What does it offer?

The CP is especially created for students between the ages of 16 and 19 who want to pursue career-related study while also advancing their lifetime learning in applied knowledge, critical thinking, communication, and cross-cultural engagement. The IB’s mission and guiding principles are incorporated into an innovative programme that combines academic studies with career skills. The distinctive CP core, a career-related study, and at least two Diploma Programme (DP) courses are all included in the CP’s three-part framework.

A CP student is valued by universities all around the world for a variety of reasons, including as their capacity to handle a demanding and varied workload while simultaneously bringing the necessary level of academic knowledge and understanding. In Pakistan, the CP is equal to the Higher Secondary School Certificate in Humanities and Science.
