Among all social media platforms, Instagram has the most variant audience available, be it different socioeconomic classes or other age groups. Initially, it was just a picture that you could upload on Instagram, and people would take screenshots of the content. But now you can upload videos and IGTV as well on Instagram. While the mediums have increased certainly, Insta users find a hindrance in sharing Instagram videos to other platforms.
Some even try to record their screen (yes, I am talking to you, Apple users). So here is a little piece of information for you. You can download Instagram videos and share them on Whatsapp, Facebook, or whatever platform you want. Here is how you can do that.
1. Open the app
I mean, you cannot go more basic from this. You will have to open the Instagram app. But don’t forget what you are there for. I know that Insta can be very enticing but don’t get caught in the flow. And don’t bookmark the video you later want to download because, and I say it from personal experience, that ‘later’ will never come. We forget that we saved a video, and it just rots away in the bookmark section.
2. Copy the link
Look at the top right of the video that you want to download. You will find three dots. Click on it, and Instagram will give you various options. Choose the option ‘copy link.’ The method stays the same for users on the app or the web. It is just that the option in the app is second in the list, whereas, for the web, it is at the fifth priority.
3. Downloader website
Go to Google and type ‘Download Instagram videos.’ Google will give you a list of results. You can click on the very first link. It will open the video downloader website. The work for all is pretty much the same, so you don’t have to dwell on which site would have been better.
4. Paste the link
Remember, you had copied the Instagram link? Now go and paste that link where the website is telling you to paste it. Once you paste it, for some website, it makes the button labeled ‘Download Instagram video’ green or clickable.
5. Click on Download
Now, of course, click on the ‘download Instagram video’ button. This doesn’t automatically download the video. It reads the link and makes it downloadable. After that only, it gives the option of downloading the video in MP4. You will have to choose the option to open a window where you can browse and select the folder you want to save the video in.
Once you choose the folder and click Save on the window, it starts downloading. For iPhone users, for safety purposes, I would recommend that once the video downloads, click on ‘save the video.’
Say bye-bye to the recording screen because now you can share the video wherever you want.
