Harry Potter fans align, HBO has finally revealed the cast of its new Harry Potter series, and we can’t be happier with the casting. If you have grown up reading or watching Harry Potter, I’m sure this moment feels both nostalgic and equally exciting.
Let’s start with the role of Harry Potter, once portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe. It will now be played by Dominic McLaughlin. Harry’s best friends are Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, formerly portrayed by Rupert Grint and Emma Roberts.
In the new Harry Potter series, these characters will be played by Alastair Stout (as Ron) and Arabella Stanton (as Hermione).
Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter
For us 90s kids, Daniel will always be the OG Harry Potter, but it seems like there is a new Harry in town, and it’s Dominic McLaughlin.
Dominic is a Scottish actor who is pretty new in the industry. He is a screen newcomer and was selected through an open casting call for actors aged between 9 and 11. His previous experience includes roles in two upcoming shows, Gifted, a BBC series, andย Grow, a Sky Original film.

Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger
“It’s Levi-o-sa, not Levio-sa!”ย Oh, what an iconic character and what an iconic dialogue!
The new Hermione will now be played by Arabella Stanton, an 11-year-old rising actress from Britain.
Stanton is best known for playing Matilda Wormwood in Matilda the Musicalย in Londonโs West End from 2023 to 2024. She also starred in Andrew Lloyd Webberโs playย Starlight Expressย at Wembley Park Theatre in Wembley, England.
It’s safe to say that this young actress has already proven her acting skills and seems quite ready to take on the new role.

Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley
“Red hair and a hand-me-down cloak, you must be a Weasley!”
Ron wasn’t the smartest in the class or even outside the class, but there was something about the character that made us Potterheads fall in love with him. From the first movie, Rupert played the character with such dedication that Alastair Stout has big shoes to fill.
Stout isn’t a well-known or experienced face of the industry, as he has only been featured in an advertisement for Albert Bartlett potatoes. As reported by The Scotsman, Alastair played the role of the son at the diner in the restaurant.

The new Harry Potter cast is all set, and Potterheads around the world are super excited. Let’s hope the new cast does us justice.
