After being the main topic of gossip in the country because of his marriage, Haris Rauf has managed to steal the spotlight again. The Pakistani fan-favorite fast bowler and sprinter has been appointed an honorary police officer in Islamabad. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan and other officers attended a ceremony organized in the federal capital in honor of the right-arm pacer. The position of Deputy Superintendent of Police was conferred to Haris Rauf by the capital police at the ceremony (DSP).

He said that he was really honored to be appointed as a goodwill ambassador of the Islamabad Police and claimed that it was an even greater honor to be able to wear this uniform like other heroes who lay their life in the line of duty. Have a look at what Rauf stated on Twitter as he expressed his joy.

Rauf expressed his gratitude to the Islamabad police and IG Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan for recognizing his contributions to Pakistan. He appreciates being their goodwill ambassador, IG, and Islamabad police, he remarked. He continued to say that he will always be there for them whenever they need him.

Maybe Haris Rauf was way too excited and glad about his new designation as DSP Islamabad Police because while tweeting, he accidentally tagged the wrong account. He tagged a meme page. Here have a look.

Nonetheless, jokes apart, the police head in Islamabad concurred, saying it was an honor to have Rauf represent them.“Since Haris is from Islamabad, it is an honor for us to make him our ambassador. I am confident that he will set a good image of Islamabad police,” said he.

Here are some reactions from his fans

That was actually quite funny! But it’s okay, don’t we all make mistakes?

Rauf gained investment from Lahore Qalandars, who then transferred him there as part of their player development initiative. After playing in the Big Bash League (BBL), he represented Pakistan in his first T20I match in 2020. Thereafter, along with Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris took on the role of Qalandars and served as the team’s bowling captain for Pakistan. He is currently Pakistan’s team’s top bowler. Fast bowler Naseem Shah was named the Balochistan Police’s Goodwill Ambassador in February of this year.

Shah was designated as the “Honorary DSP” of the police by the Balochistan police. A ceremony was organized at the IG Balochistan Police Office in Quetta to mark the appointment, during which the pacer was properly outfitted in a police uniform and installed into the ranks. Shaheen was appointed a goodwill ambassador by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police earlier in July of last year.
