Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has expressed admiration for his fellow pacer, Mohammad Amir, who has made a remarkable return to international cricket recently.
Rauf, who faced a setback with a shoulder injury during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine, is now back on the field, fully fit and eager to regain his rhythm.
Speaking to the media during Pakistan’s training session for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England, Rauf expressed the challenges of returning from injury and his determination to bounce back stronger.
“It is always difficult to return from an injury, however, I am fully fit and trying to get back in rhythm,” Rauf affirmed, reflecting on his journey back to fitness.
However, Rauf’s attention wasn’t solely on his own comeback. He took a moment to acknowledge the return of Mohammad Amir to the national team, highlighting the positive impact it has had on team morale and camaraderie.
“Amir bhai is our senior bowler. His return has increased confidence within the team. I get to learn a lot from him,” Rauf stated, paying tribute to Amir’s experience and leadership on and off the field.
Amidst the competition for spots in the bowling lineup, Rauf emphasized the healthy rivalry among teammates, where each player strives to outperform the other for the collective benefit of the team.
“The team benefits when there is competition for spots between bowlers. There is no jealousy. You try to perform better than one another so that the team benefits,” Rauf explained.
Looking ahead to the T20 World Cup, Rauf expressed his earnest desire to bring glory to Pakistan, drawing inspiration from the team’s past performances in the tournament.
“We played great cricket in the last World Cup and reached the final. We are now trying not to repeat those mistakes and do our best to bring happiness to our people,” he concluded.
