Pakistan’s fast bowler, Haris Rauf, recently during a break from national duty, was seen playing street cricket with local children during his leisure time.

Accompanied by his newly-wedded wife Muzna Masood Malik, Rauf ventured into the mountains of Pakistan, dressed in an all-black ensemble, and stumbled upon a group of youngsters playing a cricket match in a serene spot amidst the mountains.

Unable to resist the allure, he enthusiastically joined them, turning the unexpected encounter into a delightful spectacle for both the kids and onlookers. Adding to the excitement, his wife, also participated, showcasing her bowling skills to the delight of the spectators and online fans.

Capturing the heartwarming moments, Haris Rauf later took to his official X account, sharing a touching video of the cricket match.

In his caption, he expressed, ‘Their smiles are priceless!’

However, Rauf’s response to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stirred attention amidst this leisurely scene. The PCB issued a show-cause notice after he refused to participate in the upcoming Test series against Australia, citing inadequate red-ball practice as the primary reason.

This decision received criticism from Chief Selector Wahab Riaz and Team Director Mohammad Hafeez, emphasizing the priority of national team duties over franchise cricket commitments.

Despite the notice, Haris Rauf, along with Zaman Khan and Usama Mir, secured NOCs to play in the Big Bash League (BBL) until December 28. Haris Rauf and Usama Mir are part of Melbourne Stars, while Zaman Khan is part of Sydney Thunder.

The BBL campaign of Haris Rauf’s Melbourne Stars is set to kick off on December 7 at The Gabba Stadium against the Brisbane Heat.

However, Haris Rauf is expected to join the Pakistan squad for a five-match T20 International series in New Zealand, starting on January 12.
