On Eid al-Adha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called the leaders of Qatar, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Egypt, Kuwait, and Bahrain. He shared Eid greetings and emphasised Muslim unity, regional peace, and stronger cooperation.

He thanked Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for helping reduce tensions with India. The prime minister also praised the Qatari prime minister and foreign minister for their peace efforts. Both leaders agreed to enhance trade and meet soon.

During a call with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, PM Shehbaz recalled celebrating Independence Day in Lachin. He appreciated Azerbaijan’s support during the recent standoff with India. He also called for deeper brotherly ties.

PM exchanged Eid greetings with Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Both leaders prayed for justice for Palestinians and unity in the Muslim world. PM Shehbaz said, “Pakistan accepted the ceasefire negotiated by the United States and other friendly countries in the greater interest of regional peace. But India’s military actions would have to be answered with quick and resolute action. Regarding all unsolved problems, including Kashmir, we are ready for significant discussion.”

He admired Malaysia’s fair stance during the India-Pakistan tension and called for peace in South Asia.

While talking to Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, PM Shehbaz expressed satisfaction over growing ties. He thanked Tajikistan for its neutral position during recent tensions and its hospitality in Dushanbe. He also praised the Glacier Protection Conference and invited the president to visit Pakistan.

During his call with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah al-Khalid al-Hamad al-Mubarak al-Sabah, PM Shehbaz thanked him for easing visa procedures. The crown prince accepted an invitation to visit Pakistan and agreed to grow trade ties.

PM Shehbaz also sent Eid greetings to Bahrain’s King Sheikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman al Khalifa.
