US President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran on Friday, urging Tehran to agree to a deal with the United States and Israel or face harsher consequences.
In a post on his platform Truth Social, Trump said, “I gave them chance after chance, but they just couldn’t get it done,” referring to Iran’s failure to engage in negotiations.
He added that not acting would lead to results “worse than anything they expected.”
Trump highlighted America’s military power, stating, “The United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the world—BY FAR—and Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come.”
Referring to Iranian leaders, he said, “Certain Iranian hardliners talked tough, but they’re all DEAD now. It will only get worse.”
This statement came just hours after Israeli forces launched major airstrikes across Iran, hitting cities like Tehran, Shiraz, and Tabriz.
These attacks reportedly killed several top Iranian military officials and six nuclear scientists. In response, Iran fired over 100 drones at Israel, further raising tensions.
Trump appeared to support Israel’s actions, describing the situation as part of a broader deterrence effort. “The next planned attacks could be even more devastating,” he warned, calling the current violence a “slaughter.”
He continued, “There is still time to make this slaughter… come to an end. Iran must make a deal before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction. JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.”
Trump, who is campaigning for a 2024 return to the presidency, has maintained a tough approach toward Iran. He withdrew the US from the 2015 nuclear agreement and imposed harsh sanctions.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called Israel’s actions a “Zionist crime” and promised “severe punishment.” Meanwhile, the UN, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have called for restraint to avoid further escalation.
