While climate change has been a part and parcel of our lives since the beginning of time, it has recently gained momentum when it comes to its awareness and causes and much to our surprise, a part of our everyday conversations.

Pakistan is the 7th most vulnerable country to climate change and if not dealt with the right measures now, we may very well be exposed to more drastic climatic hazards in the near future.

This Independence, a lot of people have come forward and agreed to invest in planting trees in time for Independence Day, in line with literally making our country “Greener” as opposed to just a fleeting greener décor.

In a similar line of thought, one such breakthrough movement by KFC Pakistan has been initiated. The Green Movement, as the world’s best chicken makers call it, has partnered with organizations like I Am Karachi and colleges and universities to initiate a plantation drive across the country.

As a brand that believes in giving back to the community and has proven so over time, KFC Pakistan’s Green Movement is encouraging the consumers to participate in the eco-friendly cause by purchasing something as accessible as its limited time Independence Buckets.

With the purchase of each bucket on 12th, 13th and 14th August, customers will receive a packet of seeds of the Moringa and Neem Plant. These seeds are easy to plant, need less water consumption and have a plethora of both environmental and medical benefits.

It’s time we play our part in furthering this initiative by breathing life into our arid environment. The cause has also been endorsed by Pakistan Cricket Team Captain, Sarfraz Ahmed.

You can watch the video here for the captain’s message and initiative details.

Together, let’s make Pakistan greener this Independence!
