It’s the first-ever occurrence in the legal world! In Punjab, where a local court has passed its verdict by relying on none other than the high-tech ChatGPT-4. The Additional District and Sessions Judge, the one and only Muhammad Amir Munir, made this announcement on the joyful day of March 29th. The reason behind this incredible move was an alleged kidnapping of a nine-year-old boy by a thirteen-year-old juvenile. As per the First Information Report (FIR), the young suspect had taken the child to an abandoned place.
But you see, this court is a real trendsetter! It wanted to experiment with the power of ChatGPT-4 to make the justice system smarter and quicker. The court aimed to test if this AI chatbot can help pass crisp and intelligent judicial orders that comply with the law. And the court was thrilled with the results! The verdict mentioned the queries it posed to ChatGPT-4 and the replies it received. The court found the answers quite impressive. This is not the first time the court has used cutting-edge technology for legal purposes; it had previously used GPT-4 for a civil suit, and the results were fascinating like now.
What was the verdict, you ask? Well, the court granted bail to the young suspect against surety bonds worth Rs50,000. I bet you never thought a chatbot could be so useful in a courtroom!
