If you’re a horror movie fan, the Conjuring Universe is the ultimate collection of terrifying and twisted stories you can’t miss. When The Conjuring first hit theatres in 2013, it sparked unprecedented hype and quickly earned a place at the top of horror fans’ lists, for all the right reasons.
Unlike CGI-heavy films, it relied on tension-driven scares, a classic haunted-family setup that made the story emotionally gripping, the chilling ‘based-on-true-events’ appeal, and powerful acting and direction. In short, it had everything a perfect horror movie needs.
Now, The Conjuring Universe is coming to its end, and with The Conjuring: Last Rites, it is bidding all its fans a horror farewell. It is hitting the Pakistani cinemas on 5th September, Friday. But before you go watch it tomorrow, there are eight movies in the Conjuring Universe that you first need to watch.

What is The Conjuring: Last Rites About?
The Conjuring: Last Rites is a much-anticipated addition to the Conjuring Universe. It can be the largest launch in the Conjuring Universe, a title that originally belonged to the OG The Conjuring.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are returning as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are trying to vanquish a demon from the Smurl family’s home. In the trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites, ‘Lorraine’ says to ‘Ed’ that she feels an ‘evil’ is in the Smurl family’s attic. She also reveals to the family that the ‘thing’ which has taken over their house is a demon.
It is packed with intense sequences and drama and can be regarded as one of the hardest-hitting movies in the series. It is best that you watch the previous movies to know about the characters that appear in them. However, the dynamic is established so well in the latest movie that even if you don’t, you are still likely to understand the plot.
So, if you have booked your tickets and are all set for tomorrow, I wish you the best of luck, because you never know what’s lurking around your cinemas.
