When listing movies from the least to the scariest, first, you will find your run-of-the-mill horror movies, but then you will also come across the Paranormal Activity series. The scariest ones are, hands down, Turkish horror movies.
Today, we will be listing some of the best Turkish horror movies that will scare you to the extent that you will find Resident Evil funny.
1. Dabbe: The Possession
- Release Date: August 2, 2013
- Run Time: 145 Minutes (2 Hrs 25 Mins)
Main Cast for Dabbe: The Possession
- Ali Murat Özgen as Faruk Hoca: A seasoned exorcist who plays a crucial role in uncovering the dark and disturbing secrets behind Kubra’s possession.
- Irmak Örnek as Dr. Ebru Karaduman: A psychiatrist drawn into a harrowing supernatural investigation that connects deeply with her childhood past.
- Casnu Kurgun as Kubra: Ebru’s childhood friend, believed to be possessed by a jinn. Her mysterious condition sets the entire story in motion.
- Elçin Atamgüç as Refika: Kubra’s devoted and troubled mother.

The Plot of Dabbe: Possession
Based on true events, Dabbe: The Possession (4th part of the sequel) is not for the faint-hearted at all.
Just days before her wedding, Kübra brutally murders her fiancé, shocking her entire village. Haunted by dark forces, she becomes the subject of a chilling investigation led by her childhood friend Ebru, now a psychiatrist, and Faruk, an experienced exorcist. As they uncover a web of ancient curses, buried secrets, and a vengeful jinn named Sare, the line between the living and the dead begins to blur.
What starts as an attempt to expose the truth behind possession turns into a horrifying descent into betrayal, supernatural revenge, and generational sins. With the curse closing in, no one is safe, and some may never escape.
The best and scariest part of the film is the usage of raw, unfiltered gore imagery and completely real sounds that give you a glimpse into the darkness that is associated with black magic. This is an experience one gets very rarely in any other film, and hence the film was once declared the scariest horror film of all time.
The film is a 10/10 experience, though and is available on Netflix too. I would recommend watching on a big screen, lights shut and your friends close by because that will be better for all.
