Babar, who has been reinstated as Pakistan’s white-ball captain, received words of joy and wisdom from his father on his official Instagram account.

Expressing his happiness over Babar’s reappointment, Azam Siddiqui emphasized the importance of respecting the seniority and experience of players like Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim.

In his Instagram post, Azam Siddiqui wrote, “The most important thing is that the people of the authority gave honour and respect again.

“Now they are echoes that the team will not be united but I have said to Babar to forget the past. Amir and Imad are older than and senior to you, meet them with respect and honour their opinion,” he further added.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially announced Babar Azam’s reinstatement as the white-ball captain, leading both the ODI and T20I teams yesterday.

The decision came following a unanimous recommendation from the PCB’s selection committee, with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi spearheading the appointment process.

After a meeting with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to discuss plans for the upcoming T20 World Cup, Babar Azam was entrusted with the leadership reins of the team, reflecting the board’s confidence in his capabilities.

Babar’s previous stint as captain across formats ended after the conclusion of the ICC World Cup 2023, with Shaheen Shah Afridi taking over the T20I captaincy and Shan Masood assuming the Test captaincy. However, no captain was announced for the ODIs at that time.
