Apple has announced that its 29th Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held June 4-8, 2018, at the McEnery Convention Center in San José, California, USA.
The developers and students attending this year’s WWDC will be able to converse with over 1,000 Apple engineers present at the event, for a first-hand opportunity to get the latest info about the various APIs at their disposal, such as SiriKit, HomeKit, HealthKit, etc.
Developers hoping to attend have until March 22 to sign up online (tickets cost $1,599), before some 5,000 lucky participants are selected at random.
This year’s event is expected to bring news of the upcoming versions of Apple’s various operating systems (iOS 12, macOS 10.14, watchOS 5, tvOS 12) and possibly some new hardware.
The most persistent rumors suggest that the firm could unveil a new MacBook Air with Retina display, 10 years after launching the range, which has barely been updated in almost three years. Apple could also reveal a new iPad at the event, showcasing a model equipped with the Face ID facial-recognition technology that made its debut on the iPhone X in 2017.
