Al-Haj Proton officially launched their SUV called Proton X70. There were already rumors and pictures of the car that were floating on social media, which gained attention of numerous car enthusiasts a while back.

Now, on 18th December 2020, Proton finally announced this new model via their online launch event where they finally released the features, pricing and everything about the car.

The event was hosted by the famous Pakistani stars, Naveen Waqar and Ali Ansari who engaged the audience by introducing the company to their viewers and then later revealed them with the details.

Al-Haj group is one of the fastest-growing conglomerate of Pakistan that already has invested a significant amount on different business avenues including automotive manufacturing with Proton; a Malaysian based automaker.

The car is set to give competition to Hyundai Tucson, Toyota’s Vezel and KIA’s Sportage with its features and competitive price-range.

An Overview Of The Features Of The Proton X70:

In the live event which was streamed via Facebook, the CEO of Al-Haj Group, Mr. Hilal Khan Afridi took the floor to talk about features that make this newly released suv one of the best options for the Pakistani market.

Mr. Hilal Khan Afridi described the 1500CC Turbo Charged car’s overall look like that of a tiger. The chrome side-impact rims and 18-inch wheel design make it look flashy from the sides which gives the car an overall sporty look.

In the event, it was also revealed that customers will have the choice of getting the 177 horsepower car in 5 colors that are Snow White, Armor Silver, Quartz Black, Space Grey, Ruby Silver equipped with 7-speed auto (DCT) transmission.

For the safety of driver and passengers of the car, Proton X70 has safety features similar to their international market which includes 6 airbags, Brake-assist, 360-degree 4 cameras, N95 rated air purifier system, Tire-pressure monitoring system and many other features which makes it one of the best options with updated safety features in the Pakistani automobile market.

How Much Is It Going To Cost?

The X70 will be launched as a Completely Built Up (CBU) unit in Pakistan, which means it will be imported directly from Malaysia, the management revealed their plans to manufacture the vehicle locally by the 2nd Quarter of 2021.

The prices for the Imported Models will be:

Executive AWD: Rs. 4,890,000

Premium FWD: Rs. 5,390,000

Whereas the Locally-assembled Models will cost:

Executive AWD: Rs. 4,690,000

Premium FWD: Rs. 4,990,000

The car is said to have promising features that will make it one of the best and competitive additions to the Pakistani Automotive Industry however only time will tell how the consumers perceive and respond to the quality and performance of the car after it hits the Pakistani roads.
