Former South Africa batter AB de Villiers on Thursday, expressed his desire to bat with former Pakistan captain Babar Azam.
The conversation initiated with Babar Azam hosting a Space session on X, formerly Twitter, where he answered the questions from his fans, submitted by using the hashtag “Ask Babar”. He talked about various things related to his cricket career, personal life, and parents.

In one of those questions, a fan asked Babar Azam about his ‘dream batting partner,’ to which the star batter responded ‘Always AB de Villiers.’

The comment went viral on social media and caught the attention of the South Africa batting maestro, who took to his official X account to respond to Babar Azam’s wish.

Notably, de Villiers had also praised Azam last year in his YouTube video. He shared that he knew that the right-hander would achieve success since their first meeting.
“I met him first when he [Babar] was very young but quickly realized that this guy is here to stay. He has hurt bowling attacks all around the world and in all formats. He is a fantastic player and Pakistan need him in form for the Asia Cup and most importantly, for the World Cup,” he said.
