The ongoing series between Australia and Pakistan will be remembered for the arrival of Aamir Jamal in international cricket. Although he played T20Is before, but he made his mark in Test cricket during this series. Aamir Jamal is having a dream debut series, where he performed both with the bat and the ball, solving Pakistan’s all-rounder woes.

During the ongoing Sydney Test, he etched his name in Pakistan’s Test cricket history with his all-round heroics at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The talented Aamir Jamal has emerged as the first bowler from Pakistan to achieve an extraordinary milestone – claiming a staggering 18 wickets in his debut series, typically consisting of just three matches.

Yet, it wasn’t just Jamal’s prowess with the ball that stole the show. The all-rounder showcased his all-round abilities by scoring an impressive and counterattacking 82-run innings, contributing significantly to Pakistan’s commanding total of 313 runs in the first innings.

However, Jamal’s heroics didn’t cease there. Displaying a relentless spirit, he further solidified his impact on the match with an exceptional six-wicket haul in Australia’s innings, dismissing the host team for 299 runs.

This monumental feat mirrored the legendary Imran Khan’s achievement, marking Jamal as the only Pakistani cricketer after Khan to amass an 80-plus score and secure a six-wicket innings haul in the same match. Before Aamir Jamal, Khan achieved this feat during a historic Test against India in 1983.

Aamir Jamal is also one of the three Pakistani cricketers alongside Imran Khan and Wasim Akram to score 100+ runs and take 10+ wickets in a Test series in Australia.
