India and Pakistan, both nuclear-armed rivals, reached a ceasefire agreement on Saturday following U.S.-led diplomatic efforts. However, just hours later, explosions were reported in major cities like Srinagar, Jammu and in different parts along the LoC.
While the Indian Government has blamed Pakistan for breaking the ceasefire, targeting Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Pakistan has denied any such claims. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated: “Pakistan has violated the ceasefire agreed today,” adding “We call on Pakistan to halt the violation.”
On the other hand, Pakistan’s information minister, Attaullah Tarar, told a local broadcaster: “As of now, there have not been any ceasefire violations.”
