Sindh Police Will Start a Faceless E-Challan System in Karachi

Sindh Police will start a faceless e-challan system in Karachi to modernise traffic control and improve road safety. The decision came during a meeting led by Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon at the Central Police Office on Monday. The session focused on bringing reforms to the traffic police system and finding ways to lower the number of accidents.

A major change will be the launch of an electronic ticketing system. This new system will send traffic fines directly to violators’ homes without the need for them to deal with officers on the road. The goal is to improve transparency and convenience for the public.

IGP Memon said, “This system aims to ensure transparency in the enforcement of traffic laws and improve public convenience.” He added that new equipment will also be added to help monitor traffic better. “Speedometers and speed guns will be procured to monitor vehicle speeds more effectively,” he stated.

Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho explained that the police are working closely with stakeholders and government departments to make sure the system is rolled out smoothly.

To make the traffic force more efficient and public-friendly, police also plan to improve working conditions for officers and train them accordingly. This will help in better engagement with citizens on roads.

The meeting shows that authorities are focusing not only on using technology but also on improving the environment and skills of those enforcing traffic rules. Moreover, these changes are expected to reduce corruption, help avoid confrontations between the public and officers and make the entire process smoother.
