Pakistan and Egypt join hands to enhance their cooperation in the health sector, especially to eliminate Hepatitis C. This decision was made during a high-level meeting between Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal and the Egyptian Ambassador.
The Ministry of Health released a statement saying that both sides talked about technical collaboration and efforts to improve medical services in Pakistan. A team of Egyptian health experts will soon visit Pakistan to support its efforts in fighting Hepatitis C.
Health Minister Mustafa Kamal appreciated Egypt’s strong results in controlling Hepatitis C. He informed the ambassador about the work being done under the Prime Minister’s Hepatitis C Elimination Program.
“The Egyptian model of tackling Hepatitis C is commendable,” Kamal said. “We are committed to benefiting from Egypt’s experience in this area and look forward to practical collaboration.”
The Egyptian ambassador praised Pakistan’s step to follow parts of Egypt’s strategy. He confirmed that Egypt will help Pakistan with technical assistance, training programs, and awareness campaigns.
He also said a team of experts from Egypt will soon arrive in Pakistan to start working on joint health strategies.

Minister Kamal welcomed this decision. He said Pakistan would make the most of the expertise and experience of the visiting team to improve public health practices.
This cooperation is an important move in Pakistan’s goal to reduce viral infections and strengthen its healthcare system.
The partnership also reflects a rising trend of health diplomacy in the region. Countries are now more open to sharing knowledge, tools and successful models to solve common health problems.
