iPhone Users Express Frustration Over New iOS 18 Update

Published on

Apple’s recent iOS 18 update has upset iPhone owners who’ve used social media to voice their grievances about the new software. Billed as the “largest leap forward” in iPhone’s history, iOS 18 offered various adaptable features and a revamped Photos app. However, these alterations have been met with collective annoyance, as many users find the updated software less intuitive and harder to use.

Control Centre Customisation Falls Flat

The most significant complaint surrounds the remodelled Photos app, frequently described as “awkward and peculiar”. The redesigned view which consolidates photos and collections onto one screen, aimed to make scanning simpler. Users, however, are irritated by its complexity. One disgruntled customer commented, “The Photos app in iOS 18 makes me feel sick,” spotlighting the degree of consumer dissatisfaction with Apple’s design decisions.

The update’s Control Centre has also provoked criticism for its complex nature. Apple put forward more adjustability options selling users on ability to change sizes, rearranging controls, grouping them and allowing third-party apps integration. Yet this made the system seem too complicated for many. One user wrote plainly, “Whoever devised the iOS 18 Control Centre should lose their job. ” The new features indicate ambition but seem to have made users miss previous simple versions.

AI Features Delayed, Adding to Disappointment

Apart from the looks, functionality, too suffered. Stories emerged of the Apple Music app failing post-update and quicker battery drain than normal. These tech hurdles have exacerbated user discontent who anticipated seamless performance from such a highly forecasted update.

Another point of concern is the absence of AI features, such as Genmoji and improved Siri capabilities, which were promised during Apple’s announcements but will not arrive until later updates. For now, many users feel the update is incomplete, with one frustrated fan summarizing their experience by calling iOS 18 “a flop.”

In spite of personalisation promises, the recent iOS modification seems to have left a number of iPhone users let down by its implementation.
