Ramadan is now progressing in its full form. Muslims all around the world are observing fasts. Since it is regarded as the most sacred month of the year, many Muslims consider going to Mecca and Madina for Umrah for spiritual and religious reasons.

To provide a comfortable journey to such pilgrims, the Haramain High-Speed Railway announced that there are now more than 100 journeys each day. The 450-kilometer Haramain Highspeed Railway, which officially launched in 2018, connects Mecca and Medina while passing through and making a stop at Jeddah.

Here are the 5 train station locations when traveling through Haramain High-Speed Railway Train Stations.

1. Mecca Haramain High-Speed Railway Station is located 6km away from the Grand Mosque in Mecca in Al Rasaifah.
2. Jeddah Al-Sulaymaniyah Station, in An Naseem district.
3. Jeddah Airport Haramain High-Speed Railway Station can be found at the main airport terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport.
4. Rabigh Station – King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) Haramain High-Speed Railway Station at Hejaz Gate of King Abdullah Economic City.
5. Madinah Haramain High-Speed Railway Station is located in Al Hadra District.

Costs for Train Tickets 

The tickets for Mecca to Medina cost SR150 (Dh146) for economy class and SR315 (Dh308) for business class. The Haramain train has two stops in the city – one at the airport and the other at the Haramain Al Sulaymaniyah station in the An Naseem area. The cost of the ticket from Mecca to Jeddah will depend on the travel class, with prices ranging between SR40 (Dh39) and SR150 (Dh146). For those traveling from Medina to any of the three Jeddah stations, ticket prices can range from SR100 (Dh98) to SR275 (Dh268). Passengers between two and 12 years old are eligible for reduced fares, with a 50% discount for Economy Class and a 40% discount for Business Class. Furthermore, adult passengers traveling with a child under the age of two can benefit from a substantial discount of 90% on their fare.

Here’s How You Book Your Tickets

  • To book a seat, start by visiting the website and then clicking on the ‘Travel’ option on the homepage. From the drop-down menu, select ‘Book a Seat’ to proceed to the ticket booking platform.
  • Once you arrive at the ticket booking platform, you may need to wait in an online queue for a few minutes before the page refreshes and you can start purchasing tickets.
  • Choose whether you require a one-way or round-trip ticket.
  • Choose your desired departure and arrival locations.
  • Select the date of your trip.
  • Enter the number of passengers who will be traveling.

To Book A Seat, Follow These Steps

  • The website will display the train schedules and available seats for your chosen date.
  • Choose a date and pick your preferred travel class from either business or economy class. The ticket price for each class will be shown.
  • If you plan to book a round-trip, repeat the first two steps for your return journey.
  • Click on the ‘Next’ button once you have chosen your travel dates.
  • Select your desired seat.
  • After selecting a seat, click ‘Next’.

To Complete Your Booking, Follow These Steps

  • Provide your personal and contact details.
  • Enter your full name, date of birth, and gender.
  • Select the document type that you will be using for your journey, such as Iqama for Saudi residents and citizens, GCC ID for GCC citizens, or passport for international passengers.
  • Enter the document number and expiry date.
  • Select your nationality.
  • After entering the passenger details, provide your contact information.

To Confirm The Booking You Will Have To Make The Payment

  • Tap the ‘Pay’ button after entering your personal information.
  • You will be redirected to a payment channel to enter your credit or debit card details.
  • Once the payment has been confirmed, you will receive your tickets via email.

Baggage Policy

As per the Haramain High-Speed Railway website, passengers are permitted to bring only one piece of large-sized luggage weighing no more than 25kg. The baggage’s dimensions should be within 65cm x 55cm x 35cm (length-height-width). Additionally, passengers are allowed to carry one extra item of hand luggage, such as a backpack, laptop bag, camera bag, purse, nursery bag, or similar items.
