Carmudi Pakistan has recently launched its very first ad in Pakistan. Carmudi is one of the major emerging players in the online car marketplace across the world. Founded in Germany in 2013, now its operations span more than 18 countries worldwide.

The 40 second ad has been produced by ‘Dream Team Films’ and was directed by Amena Khan.

The ad portrays two regular men named Bilal and Filhaal. Both are selling the same model car but by different channels and techniques of selling. Bilal is portrayed to be a wise guy and uploads his car’s details and photos over ‘Carmudi’ whereas Filhaal uses some rather weird techniques. Why do we say weird?

Here the ad gets a little off balance. Filhaal is supposed to be using the traditional way of selling the car. But instead he prints photocopies of an ad, flyers, to be exact, and also dons a megaphone and is seen trying to sell his car in the mall.

While it is good to be funny and the ad pulls it off fairly. It was better off portraying Filhaal using traditional techniques such as classified ads and a flyer pasted on his own car like the ones we often see. The ad contrasts the state of both men through seasons. Bilal’s side is sunny and happy while Filhaal’s side displays autumn and struggle giving it a nice touch.

In the end, Bilal sells his car and helps Filhaal do the same. Here the Carmudi app is shown in Bilal’s phone. This serves to introduce people to the app without screaming we also have a car app.

All in all it’s a nicely done TVC.
