Pakistan happens to be repositioning its stance under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s rule to promote peace in the region. There is plenty of evidence in front of the public eye that proves Pakistan is pushing forward to promote peace in the region.

Kartarpur Corridor 

The visionary leader, Imran Khan has taken several initiatives to promote peace in the region including allowing Sikhs to visit the site of pilgrimage visa-free. A secure corridor connecting Gurdwara Darbar Sahib to the Indian border.

Talks with Taliban   

At the beginning of Khan’s tenure, talks with the Taliban was one of his main goals to achieve. His administration arranged negotiations with the United States and the Taliban. On March 2nd, an agreement was finally signed in Doha.

Relations with India 

PM Khan had made concrete efforts to improve Pakistan’s relationship with India. His government has made several efforts to conduct peace talks with India but has been disappointed in return.

Release of Indian Wing Commander, Abhinandan Varthaman

Pakistan had captured Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman during airstrikes while planes were being downed. As a good wills gesture, Abhinandan was sent back to India in hopes that India will step forward and make an effort to promote peace between the two nations.

Pakistan Becomes interlocutor for Iran and Saudi Arabia to Resolve Conflict in Yemen

Pakistani government contacted diplomats from Yemen and Iran to initiate dialogue for peace to open channels of humanitarian assistance for people suffering from famine in Yemen.
