Pak Suzuki has been known to be one of the biggest automotive manufacturers in Pakistan. Although the auto-titan announced discontinuing the Swift in 2021, we wonder if it plans to bring the 4th gen Suzuki Swift to Pakistan?
With the production coming to a halt, buyers are eager to know Swift’s replacement (if any).
A few sources claim that Swift’s new generation will come to Pakistan, but it’s not clear exactly when that will happen.
4th Gen Suzuki Swift
The Swift is a front-engine front-wheel-drive subcompact car. The 1st Generation Suzuki Swift has launched in 2000 by Suzuki and went on till 2003. The second-gen was introduced in 2004 in other countries whereas in Pakistan it was launched in 2010.
The Suzuki Swift 2020 is available in 2 variants DLX Navigation (PKR 2,030,000) and DLX Automatic Navigation (PKR 2,175,000).
The fourth-generation Swift debuted in Japan on 27 December 2016 and was unveiled in full glory at the Geneva Motor show in March 2017 for the global markets.
The hatchback is built on the ‘Heartect’ platform that made its debut in 2015 and is the same lightweight platform used to produce the hatchbacks Baleno and Ignis.
It is equipped with either a 1.2L 4-cylinder Dualjet petrol engine for the hybrid model developing 66 kW at 6000 rpm and 120 N⋅m torque at 4400 rpm. Simultaneously, the global market variant comes with a 1.0L 3-cylinder K10C Boosterjet Turbo petrol engine developing 82 kW at 5500 rpm and 160 N⋅m of torque at 1500-4000 rpm.
The 4th gen Swift, like its predecessors, carries out the basic look of a subcompact hatchback. It is attractive, has an appealing and vibrant look, and comes equipped with several decent features.
Some of the exterior’s instantly attractive features are the projector-head lamps, LED-tail lamps, LED-DRL’s and chrome grill. Compared to the previous model, the 4th gen Swift is sportier in looks and has a longer wheelbase, length, and width.
Just like the exterior, the interior is quite pleasant. It will also receive a makeover as compared to the previous models to make it more attractive. Suzuki has included several elements, including entering console, gearbox, and steering wheel have been coasted with silver to make it pop.
The auto brand has also added automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, and a cool glove box. The speed-o-meter gets a center-mounted color TFT display for displaying different information for the driver.
It has the following features:
- Projector-head lamps
- LED-tail lamps
- Chrome grill
- Speed-o-meter with color mounted TFT display.
- Center console
- Automatic climate control
If launched, Suzuki Swift is most likely to be equipped with a KB12 1.2L petrol engine for the Pakistani market, giving a max output of 84HP.
