Sindh cabinet has approved the bill to prevent workplace harassment for women. The ‘Sindh Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2018’ was approved on Tuesday.

The motive behind the bill is to address the issue of female harassment in workplaces through a legal framework.

Secretary Women Development department Baqaullah Unar gave a presentation to the cabinet and apprised the CM and participants about the salient features of the act.

During the meeting, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah approved a poverty reduction package worth Rs 72.5 billion under which interventions would be made in education, health and water and sanitation sectors and the development of village roads.

The chief minister said the programme will cover the whole of the province. Villages will be supplied with clean drinking water, proper roads, drainage schemes, health facilities and vocational training.
