Men Banned From Entering Girls’ Schools

Earlier this week, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan issued the notice to ban the entry of men in events which are meant for girls only in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The minister also restricted media for covering such events and post pictures on the social media.

Moreover, it has been directed that men will not be allowed to visit girls’ schools and colleges even as chief guests. Only female parliamentarians and local government representatives will be invited as chief guests at such events.

While talking to the media, Education Minister Ziaullah Bangash told the media: 

At girl’s school events, only female parliamentarians or female officers should be called as chief guests. Entry of men into female education institutes has been banned.

Sharing the reason behind the ban, a senior government official informed:

This happened recently when some photos were shared on social media without the consent of those having been photographed. The issue was reported on the local level but was later brought into the notice of concerned officials who may have pursued the ministry to impose a ban.
