The wait is finally over as HBL Pakistan Super League returns with its 11th edition on March 26. The tournament will continue till May 3, bringing weeks of cricket action in Lahore and Karachi.
The opening match will see defending champions Lahore Qalandars vs Hyderabad Kingsmen at Gaddafi Stadium. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi said the team has prepared well and their focus is to play good cricket and defend their title.
New Teams Bring Fresh Energy
This season is now being seen as a new phase for the league, with Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz joining the competition. With eight teams now playing, there are more chances for young players to come forward and show their talent.
A total of 44 matches will be played during the tournament, split equally between Lahore and Karachi. Each team will play 10 matches before the playoffs begin.
Players To Watch This Season
Some of the biggest names in Pakistan cricket will once again be in action. Babar Azam remains the top run scorer in PSL history with 3,792 runs as he is followed by Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan.
On the bowling side, Hasan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi are among the leading wicket takers in the league.

Opening Match Set For High Drama
The first match itself is expected to be full of excitement. Lahore Qalandars come in as a strong and settled side, especially with the advantage of playing at home.
Hyderabad Kingsmen, although they’re new, have a powerful squad. Players like Glenn Maxwell and Marnus Labuschagne add experience, while young star Saim Ayub brings fresh energy to the team.

The pitch at Gaddafi Stadium usually helps batters, so fans can expect a high-scoring match. A score around 185 is considered good, but both teams have strong batting lineups that can go even higher.
