Pakistan’s batting coach, Mohammad Yousuf, has decided to travel with the team for their white-ball series in New Zealand after initially pulling out due to his daughter’s health issues.

Yesterday, reports suggested that Yousuf had withdrawn from the tour, leaving the team without a batting coach. However, after receiving positive news about his daughter’s recovery, he reversed his decision and confirmed his availability.

“Touring with the Pakistan cricket team is a national duty, and I am going to discharge it,” Yousuf stated.

This decision comes as a relief for Pakistan’s struggling batting lineup, which desperately needs guidance ahead of a challenging series against the Black Caps.

A Rollercoaster of Emotions

For any parent, their child’s health comes before everything else. Yousuf’s initial withdrawal was completely understandable, as family always takes priority. However, the improvement in his daughter’s condition gave him the confidence to join the squad.

His dedication to Pakistan cricket is commendable. He could have easily chosen to stay back, but instead, he decided to be with the team in their crucial overseas assignment.

Pakistan’s Tour of New Zealand: A Tough Test Awaits

Pakistan’s squad departed for New Zealand on Wednesday, gearing up for an intense series. The tour includes five T20Is and three ODIs, with matches spread across multiple cities.

Here’s a look at the T20I schedule:

📍 March 16 – 1st T20I (Christchurch)
📍 March 18 – 2nd T20I (Dunedin)
📍 March 21 – 3rd T20I (Auckland)
📍 March 23 – 4th T20I (Mount Maunganui)
📍 March 26 – 5th T20I (Wellington)

Once the T20I series wraps up, the focus will shift to the ODIs.

📍 March 29 – 1st ODI (Napier)
📍 April 2 – 2nd ODI (Hamilton)
📍 April 5 – 3rd ODI (Mount Maunganui)

Why Yousuf’s Presence Matters?

Pakistan’s batting lineup has been inconsistent in recent months, struggling in major tournaments. Mohammad Yousuf, one of Pakistan’s finest batters, brings valuable experience and technical expertise to the table.

With New Zealand’s challenging conditions, Pakistan will need all the help they can get to counter their potent pace attack. Yousuf’s input will be crucial in preparing the batters to handle pace, bounce, and swing.
