Adobe’s Photoshop and Premiere to Get a Huge AI Boost to Run on NVIDIA Superchip

Through an expanded partnership with NVIDIA, Adobe is rebuilding Photoshop and Premiere Pro to run on the powerful NVIDIA Superchip platform. The overhaul promises faster editing, smarter AI tools, smoother rendering, and a new generation of creative assistants. These will all be capable of working directly inside Adobe’s flagship applications.

For creators, this isn’t just any old speed boost. When working with AI-native creative workflows, tedious tasks like editing and content production become significantly smoother.

Photoshop and Premiere Getting Rebuilt

It is an understatement that Adobe is just optimising existing software. The company is set to redesign the core systems inside Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Through this, they aim to fully utilise the capabilities of the NVIDIA Superchip.

Premiere Pro will come with a new video processing pipeline that works with:

  • NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPU architecture
  • Unified memory
  • TensorRT technology

As a result, editors can expect smoother timeline playback, real-time colour correction, and faster rendering of demanding projects.

Photoshop Becomes More AI-Native Than Ever

Photoshop is also receiving a major architectural makeover. Adobe is transitioning the application to a fully GPU-accelerated compositing engine, unlocking significant gains in responsiveness and visual performance.

This upgrade enables:

  • Instant live filters
  • Improved HDR image processing
  • More realistic oil and watercolor brushes
  • Faster AI-powered editing workflows
  • Better performance on large creative projects

Combined with the NVIDIA Superchip, these features are designed to make professional-grade editing feel nearly instantaneous.

Firefly Features Will Run Faster on Local Hardware

Adobe’s Firefly-powered tools are among the biggest winners of this partnership. Popular features such as Generative Fill in Photoshop and Generative Extend in Premiere Pro will run directly on local devices rather than relying heavily on cloud processing.

That means faster results, lower latency, and a more seamless creative experience. For content creators handling large projects, even small reductions in waiting time can significantly improve productivity.

“The best creative work in the world happens in Adobe tools from Adobe Firefly to Photoshop and Premiere, and the expansion of our partnership with Nvidia and Microsoft will make those experiences faster and more powerful than ever.”

Special Features of the NVIDIA Superchip

Built in partnership with MediaTek, the NVIDIA Superchip combines a 20-core Arm-based CPU with a Blackwell RTX GPU. It supports up to 128GB of unified memory and delivers an impressive 1 petaflop of local AI performance.

Adobe says the redesigned applications could deliver up to twice the performance for AI editing, effects processing, color grading, and rendering tasks.

The new software updates are expected to launch alongside NVIDIA Superchip-powered laptops and desktops from ASUS ProArt, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, and Microsoft Surface later in 2026.
